Let's first look at what Hypnosis IS NOT
1) Hypnosis is not a state of Unconsciousness.
2) Hypnosis is not Sleep.
3) Hypnosis cannot change your reality but it can change the way you will face the reality.
4) Hypnosis can’t make you do something you don’t want to.
5) Hypnosis is not being controlled by someone else.

Now let's see What Hypnosis is
"Hypnosis also referred to as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion is a trance-like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. Hypnosis is usually done with the help of a therapist using verbal repetition and mental images. When you're under hypnosis, you usually feel calm and relaxed and are more open to suggestions." Hypnosis is: 
1) An Awake state.
2) Rapport with your Unconscious Mind.
3) Imagination.
4) State of Relaxation.

During Hypnosis you will:
1) You will be hearing everything.
2) You will be in control.
3) You will be responsible for your motivation and participation.
Who can benefit Hypnosis: Everyone.
When you read a book, or watch tv, you get into that hypnotic state.

Who cannot be hypnotized?
1) People with mental problems, or mentally incapacitated by drugs or other chemicals. 
2) People with a lower IQ 
3) People with an hyper analitical mind that questions the suggestions of the therapist.

Use of Hypnosis in Sport and Martial Arts
Many high-performance athletes and sportspeople use hypnosis to break through fears, keep themselves focused, and improve their performance.

2003 Study at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio found out that mental imagery can also increase significant muscle growth. Mental rehearsal is effective because as you imagine an activity the neurons in your brain fire in exactly the same patterns that they would follow if you were actually performing the activity. These movements - along with contractions in your muscles - are responsible for neuro-muscular co-ordination.
